Leadership skills are highly sought, they involve dealing with people in such a way as to motivate, enthuse and build respect. Leadership development refers to activities that improve the skills, abilities and confidence of leaders. All leaders have common leadership challenges, there are aspects of leadership unique to each leader level. Making the transitions from leading self as an individual contributor to leading others to leading other leaders all require enhanced capabilities. Effective leaders have the ability to communicate well, motivate their team, handle and delegate responsibilities, listen to feedback, and have the flexibility to solve problems in an ever-changing workplace. Leaders at different levels of the organization face different challenges. Anyone can be placed in a leadership role, but to be good and thrive in that position requires solid leadership skills.
